Silent Man
04:50
|
|||
Why speak
When a look says a thousand words
Leave me alone
Give your bread to the birds
I'll find my way
From the lines in my hand
I don't need or want you
To understand.
I make do, move on
I work when I can
I'm in no hurry
I'm a silent man (2)
Why stare
At a face you don't understand
At mistakes
You think I've made
I don't need the comfort
Of your bible
I'm not planning
On being saved.
I make do, move on
I work when I can
I'm in no hurry
I'm a silent man (2)

Birds In Song
02:04
|
|||
There’s a strange kind of hush, all over this morning
As the sun climbs the city, and peers to the sea
The dust and the gunfire descends on the streets
Fired by an army in the name of peace
The first thing you’ll hear when this madness is done
Is the crying of children,
And the birds in song
Mothers with children, they cower in their basements
And pray to their god, that they will survive
And out from the sun flies a lone jet pilot
Who blesses himself as he prepares to dive
The first thing you’ll hear when this madness is done
Is the crying of children,
And the birds in song
National pride and national anthems
Swell as the soldiers with precision march by
But somewhere in our world lies a child unburied
And the fighting continues
The first thing you’ll hear when this madness is done
Is the crying of children,
And the birds in song

Autumn
03:20
|
|||
Autumn sets her easel up so early in these hills
Painting pastels on the landscape, as he poses standing still
Waiting for the artist to trace the later dawns
And painting in the wind now, as she hears the winter call
Let me in he sang, o Lord let me in. Let me in he sang, o Lord let me in.
Sheep know he’s coming, the winter and his song
Written for the North wind, so mournful and so strong
The hills now restless, impatient, posing still
Autumn flushed now, she moves to paint the fields.
Let me in he sang, O Lord let me in. Let me in he sang, O Lord let me in.
The winter now stands over the artist and her paint
And calls to the north wind, and sings he cannot wait
The artist, frustrated, throws her palette to the fore
The colours fall and mingle, as leaves to the forest floor
Let me in he sang, O Lord let me in. Let me in he sang, O Lord let me in.

Moving On
04:07
|
|||
Sitting here thinking
Of the people I have known
Who have taught me wit or wisdom,
Left me memories I now own.
And as I recall them now,
They are a comfort to me
Keep me safe when I am travelling,
Over land or on the sea
And I
Keep moving on,
But I’ll never forget where I’m from
Though I may change the place that I call home
I will never forget where I’m from
Sitting here with those who now know me
Telling them of those who made me,
What I am, the one they see
And if they should ask me who
I will recall when I am old
To those sitting here with me now,
I shall remember you all.
And I
Keep moving on,
But I’ll never forget where I’m from
Though I may change the place that I call home
I will never forget where I’m from
And as I say goodbye
In the only way I know yet
If I never know another soul, I know I’ve known the best
And I
Keep moving on,
But I’ll never forget where I’m from
Though I may change the place that I call home
I will never forget where I’m from
